Lousiana:
Most recently, it was exciting to see the Alpha Phi Alpha chapters in 4 states elect to become Force for Health Chapters to help their members, alumni, and classmates address health literacy, risk, and equity concerns for African Americans. Cardiovascular disease disparities is a real problem affecting health equity, health status, and economic stability.  They will be working with advanced health risk assessment, education, and exercise tools. Some of the chapters will also reach out to local high schools to help them create a club similar to those the Scholars are using in Ohio. They are championing the Advance the Dream program that is pioneering the use of augmented reality using the new Force for Health GO app (F4HGO) and will be helping build out equity, civics, and health literacy learning for people that walk, learn, and earn.  It is especially exciting when those that are the leaders learn from their brother alumni and become mentors to the youth and health educators for the community.
