STEM Student Success at AISES with Mayo Clinic

Robert Gillio, MD • Feb 29, 2020

Mayo Clinic participates in a work shop with the best STEM undergraduates in the nation.

Dr. Rob's report from Wisconsin:

When Mayo Clinic was doing a health careers training and introduction to medical problem solving for the nations Native American STEM students leadership at the AISES conference in Milwaukee, The Force for Health was there as a guest.

We used 3D anatomy simulations to teach the anatomy, discussed in a grand rounds exchange some case presentations for problem solving using their critical thinking skills and then had fun with hands on work with the mannequins.

We are ready to recruit members to the Force for Health to help with the current crisis and use their skills to create a culture of wellness and the medicines and engineering and care giving services we will need going forward.

I look forward to opportunities to do more work with Mayo  Clinic and AISES . It is great to rub shoulders with the leaders from the past and for the future.

Its time, young people, to "merge mercy with might, and might with right" and do the right thing to help us show compassion for all, and protect each other leading with the light of our example to wear the mask, get the shot, feed the hungry, and be kind as we come out of this challenge by making it the opportunity to create a new movement..
